The first-ever L30 Double Handed World Championship taken place on 13 September 2026 in Trieste, Italy, marking a new chapter in the history of the L30 Class.
The championship was sailed in challenging and highly unpredictable conditions, with light, unstable and constantly shifting winds testing the teams’ tactical skills, concentration and ability to adapt. One coastal race was held during the championship, with the changing conditions creating a highly competitive fight across the fleet.
The lead changed hands throughout the regatta, with several teams remaining in contention until the final stages. Every position was hard-fought, making the inaugural L30 Double Handed World Championship a memorable and closely contested event.
After a tense battle, Bella Madonna of Hungary, sailed by Daniel Takacs and Botond Kovacs, secured the historic overall victory and became the first-ever L30 Double Handed World Champions. The Hungarian team also claimed the Corinthian Division title. 🏆🥇
