8 October 2025 – Sanremo, Italy. The first day of racing at the 2025 L30 World Championship in Sanremo, Italy , saw the L30 fleet on the waters of Sanremo. Despite a light and uncertain forecast, the Race Committee docked out at 12.30pm, taking a chance that paid off handsomely, by early afternoon, a light 4-knot westerly filled the racecourse.
The race started at 2.30pm in excellent racing conditions. Sailors benefited from the L30 boat advantage to race in light wind hoisting Code0. While a few boats were individually recalled, a general recall was avoided, thanks to the Vakaros RaceSense system, which reliably detected all OCS boats in real time, allowing the fleet to get away cleanly.
Three races were sailed today. Team Tranquilo with 1-2-2 scores lead the fleet followed by Present Perfect and Tara. In Corinthian division, Happy Merida of Hungary showed her performance by finishing 4-8-6 overall.
The same weather forecast is predicted for tomorrow and we expect dynamic racing under Code0 in the sunny waters of Sanremo.
The 2025 L30 World Championship continues to deliver world-class competition and brilliant sailing conditions, thanks to the support of Rooster and Harken Derm, sponsors of the event.
